Five Simple Rhythms to Love Others Like Jesus

Updated: Oct 9, 2025

Most of us want our lives to matter, but “making a difference” often feels overwhelming, or awkward. The BLESS framework offers a simple way to love people naturally, right where you are. No scripts, no pressure. Just everyday rhythms that create connection and open doors for faith conversations.

B – Begin with Prayer

Ask God to open your eyes to opportunities and give you courage to take them. Prayer shifts the pressure off you and reminds you it’s His mission.

Tip: Pray for three specific people daily, a coworker, neighbor, or friend.

L – Listen

People are desperate to be heard. Ask questions, then really listen, not to fix or respond, but to understand.

Try this: Next time you hang out with someone, put away your phone and ask, “How are you, really?”

E – Eat Together

Sharing food breaks down walls. Whether it’s tacos, coffee, or a game night, meals create space for relationships to grow.

Goal: Have one meal this week with someone outside your usual circle.

S – Serve

Small acts of kindness show big love. Help with a move, mow a yard, babysit, show up when people need you.

Remember: Love is often felt more through actions than words.

S – Share

When the time is right, share Jesus naturally in conversation. Be honest and simple, your role isn’t to convince, just to open the door.

Why It Works

BLESS turns everyday interactions into meaningful moments. As you pray, listen, eat, serve, and share, you’ll see God change lives, including your own.

At Kingdom Life, BLESS isn’t just a framework we talk about, it’s how we live on mission together.

  • Each week, at the end of our missional community gatherings, we take time to pray and listen, asking God to show us who He wants us to BLESS in the coming week.

  • We commit together to specific actions using the BLESS framework, real steps to love and serve the people God has placed in our lives.

  • The next time we gather, the very first thing we do is review those commitments, holding one another accountable with both strength and support.

This rhythm creates a powerful cycle of prayer, action, and accountability. It keeps our focus outward, ensures no one walks alone, and fuels a growing movement of people living intentionally on mission together.

When we BLESS others this way, we’re not just talking about love, we’re planning, acting, and multiplying it in a way that transforms communities.
